Clos des Saumanes
Southern Rhône - France
The property is composed of 60 acres of which 48 are traditional grapes variety of the Vallée du Rhône; grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault for the red wines, White Grenache, Clairette, Viognier and Roussane for the white wines. Upon the hill of Gadagne, the scarcity of vegetation leaves room for a desert of rolled galets sweeped along the Rhône and blowned by the mistral (a northern wind that blows along the vallée du Rhône).
After careers in medicine in Champagne, Martine and Robert Janer decided to land in Châteauneuf de Gadagne. They fell in love with a piece of land and decided to renovate the winery and restructure the vineyard. Clos des Saumanes was born! Their diligence and previous medical formation bring sustainable growing methods without fertilizers nor pesticides. Some of the vine stocks are more than 50 years old and produce scarce but admirable grapes. Nonetheless, Martine and Robert Janer have always favour low but qualitative yields.
Domaine du Rieu Frais
Southern Rhône - France
Domaine du Rieu frais is located in Drôme provençale in the heart of the regional parc of Baronnies Provençales (IGP Coteaux du baronnies). Alexandre Liotaud - third generation - only makes organic wines thanks to a particular microclimate (Mediterranean and alpine influence). The vineyard is full of diversity with over 10 varietals grown on the property.
Alexandre only uses natural products to protect the vineyard, like biodegradable Sulphur or different types of plants (tisane, infusion). For 8 months of the year the vines have a natural grass covering, helping create biodiversity and limiting erosion of the soil. Mother nature is a priority at Domaine du Rieu Frais and that’s why the vineyard is organic certified since 2007!
South-West - France
Domaine Laurens is located in the South West of France, on a tiny appellation (200 ha) called Marcillac. The local red grape is called Mansois (or Fer Servadou) and grow exclusively in this area. It produces charming wines with strong character, notes of black fruits (raspberry, blueberry) and spices. Laurens family was one of the first to believe in the potential of the appellation, and Henri Laurense decided to expand the vineyard in the 60’s. The new generation remains focused on the environment, offering beautiful and affordable wines!
